I am fairly new to Java but have been asked to conduct interviews . I normally ask the concepts of language in telephonic screen and make it a point to not ask any leet kind in screens. My on-sites.are leet based with a few concept based questions.
If you’re going to ask a Leetcode question onsite, you need to ask one in the phone screen too. Otherwise you might end up getting someone actually useful through the phone screen.
To be part of the team, you need to be capable to trap rain water 🙃
I usually ask them to explain how they would catch and skin a monkey in the jungle. Rainwater trapping is for beginners.
Why are you asking language trivia ? Imo in the age of Stackoverflow & online dev docs that's even worse waste of time than LeetCode. Better ask simple LeetCode in phone screens, & a mix of LeetCode, & small real world coding questions in onsite.
Got it , makes sense. Will do the needful
Yes SSN
Like interface vs abstract class stuff? 😤
Phone screen is meant to weed out the bads so as to not waste my teams time .... I've ended them early plenty of times when I know the person has no chance on site
