Amazon L7 seattle

Is it true that Amazon L7 salary range is from 380k-480k? This will map to Microsft L67 and Facebook L7 salary range.

Probably. Amazon promotes at a much lower rate and underpays anyone under L6 by a lot so if you're L7 there you're very good and probably compensated well. I wouldn't know because I left to get my L7 promotion. Too much politics there

Amazon dxpS56 May 12, 2018

Lol no. I am L4 and I don’t think I am underpaid at all.

Uber dara k. Aug 31, 2017

Go to Microsoft and just retire lol. Get paid, no pressure or deliverables, settle down, live like a king

Microsoft podela Aug 31, 2017

Jealous. Not the way it works

Microsoft Trotwood Aug 31, 2017

Microsoft has a layoff culture and you get managed out pretty quickly that way. This isn't Ballmer's country club anymore

Amazon AmzBell Aug 31, 2017

Amz makes u work like a dog and pays u in nuts

Amazon dxpS56 May 12, 2018

This I kinda agree with lol

Everyone at Amazon has a max annual Salary of 160k. They have stock and signing bonus for the first 2 years

The max is $350k now. I just took an offer with base well into the 200s.

Amazon untitley Sep 1, 2017

that's just L6 range

Amazon n01 Sep 1, 2017

L67 at MS: salary was 250K. With 100% Target for level, I would get in a reasonable year 30% bonus and 150K in stock. Basically: 475K. Left for Amazon and I'm getting 600K as L7 for the first 2 years. No stock risk. Let's see what happens in a year.

How is your experience in Amazon so far as compared to Msft? Is it really a world of differences or more or less Same?

Amazon n01 Sep 1, 2017

Your experience depends on your team. Ironically, about 50% of the senior leadership in my team came from Microsoft. But those are the "productive 50%". I know of other teams at Amazon that were taken over by Microsoft politicians. Life there is miserable. I get resumes all the time. But I cannot hire: we have to wait for attrition. Imagine that!
