Back to Work

I plan on returning to work after a 6 month break. I took a break due to burnout and other health issues, mostly caused by stress.
I want to take up flexible work options with partial work from home, and have good work life balance. however every time I bring this up, there is no interest from the hiring managers or recruiters. I passed the Amazon interview and when I brought this up, they lowered the offer so much that it did not make sense for me to accept.
Appreciate any tips on how to get a job that has flexible hours and reasonable work life balance.

Looks like Amazon was willing to accommodate. But the trade off was less pay. Choosie beggars indeed.

Search in google for “remote software engineer job”. Most major job search site has a filter for remote telecommute job.

Try a full time work from home job. That is what I do. However pay is usually less.

Two remote-first companies that I’m aware of are Elastic and InVision. Good luck OP.

When you say flexible hours, do you mean you want to work 5 hours today, maybe 2 hours tomorrow, 4 hours on Friday?

Flexible hours or part time is what most people what. Especially parents who just had a baby. There are not many part time jobs.
