Do L3s get google refresher after the first year?
Hi, I got an offer from Google recently and my recruiter suggested the end of Jan 2019 as start date. I found out from blind posts that google stopped giving stock refreshers after the first year (except in some exceptional cases) but it starts giving it from the second year. Is that true? If so, would it be better if I join in Dec 2018 instead of Jan 2019? Will it make me eligible for refresher in Jan 2020 (for the year 2019)? Can someone who joined Google recently help me with this? Thanks in advance.
If you join by Dec 31 2018, you will get guaranteed refreshers in Jan 2020, otherwise Jan 2021. It will solely depend on manager though if you join in January 2019 for 2019 refreshers.
How common is it for someone joining in Jan to get refresher ? Would you suggest talking to manager about this ? It doesn't make sense for someone joining in Jan to not get refresher in a pro rated manner
Refresher is extra stocks that vests about two years into the future, right?
