Only for eng because they think that’s the only way to retain good engineers. But don’t care for Sales and Marketing people. I feel that’s a super selfish thing to do and I am pretty sure Dan knows about this discrimination. Also you will see a green dot on the badge of 9th floor employees don’t worry it’s just to discriminate you in case you come looking for food on the 9th floor !!
it’s true: only two days a week, only Product Dev, not very good. Engineers get higher comp packages compared to other departments to compete for engineering talent. People don’t see that comp differences but lunch is a hot button because it’s visible. It’s the one thing culturally which is not aligned with our values. I feel a little awkward about it

Yea it’s only on Monday and Wednesday and only for Engineering/product/design. To be honest it feels kind of discriminatory but I guess we gotta do it to retain engineers since free food is like table stakes in the valley.
