Hey all, Any tips and tricks on getting real experience for UX Design? Perhaps portfolio building too? What are types of projects you expect from a UX Design portfolio? 1 Website, 1 App, 1 Misc (Maybe an VR project of sorts)? Tagging these companies as I would love to hear your point of view. Thanks!
Do you know UX and need build portfolio or just starting and need experience?
Kind of both. Just looking to improve my current portfolio and also need experience.
Take on real projects as a side hustle, if all you have is student work.
Best way to start with experience is try contract work if u can’t get internships. Also for portfolios, look into how to build case studies. People care the most about how you think and design, not how you can make cool and pretty things with no reasoning
Thanks for the advice! Any thoughts on how to get decent contract work?
Reach out to recruiters. Proliance and the Creative Group are both great staffing companies, if you’re from Seattle. Otherwise do a bit of research in your area for companies like those. I like these companies because they make an effort to keep in touch and match you, your needs and your work with great companies. Sometimes by putting ur resume on monster or indeed, these firms find you
VR is overdone.
Cool! Any alternative projects?
