I had a goal for myself. I worked on it for an year. I achieved the set goal. During the process I was hustling, learning, working days and nights together. I was feeling challenged. I was on a roller coaster of emotions. I loved it. Now that I have achieved my set goal. I am aimless, less challenged, relaxed. I understand one needs to relax and enjoy life as well. I did and I am bit bored. Now I want to do more. But I am finding lot of inertia. How do you set the soul on fire again? What do you do to get out of comfort zone as quickly as possible? Looking forward to some awesome suggestions. Thanks.
Understand that its the journey that counts and not the destination. But truth is that journey without a goal is just a wander, which is what you are going through. And ultimately, why did you even have goal? Because there was something higher motivation or intrinsic desire that triggered that. And that is what needed to be kindled... Not a goal and not a journey.
I'll lookout for the higher motivation or intrinsic desire.
Thank you master Yoda
@dudhevrvu, just think about it, it makes complete sense. It's like coming up with an optimal algo for happiness.
Set a goal outside of work for a while. You’ll find your motivation at work again. Give it some time. Worked for me.
Thanks for responding. Nice thought. Please don't assume that I am talking about only professional goals. But I get what you are saying.
Is your recent goal something that satisfied you/ added some net positive to your life both while chasing and now that you have it? (There are always trade offs of course, which is why I say net). If yes, is there a logical progression to that goal, would that be enticing? If not, look elsewhere, reinvent yourself, pick something that is interesting and experience the rapid progress that usually exists in starting something new. See if it catches on. Try a couple of those things. They don’t have to be work related.
I am open to any type of goal irrespective of personal or professional. I get what you say.
Go lift
Have a bigger goal. It’s human nature, you’re sitting on your ass now and I just kicked it. 😂
Find a new goal well outside of your comfort zone. Not everyone subscribes to the WLB narrative. Some people including myself love working as long as they are constantly learning and evolving.
Thanks. I'll think a goal outside comfort zone like the earlier goal.
