What's IMDb's video team like? Is it just fully integrated with Amazon Prime Video teams? Or is it separate in terms of pay and WLB? Looking into the the positions in Seattle. Are there people who work for IMDb's streaming division on Blind?
Most of IMDb is in SoCal. I would not expect them to be integrated at all frankly because amazon team sizes are quite small.
This is not entirely true, Santa Monica, Seattle, and Bristol, UK, are where most of the people are at.
IMDB TV is a new team in Seattle that’s not related at all to the actual IMDB teams. They’re just borrowing the name. It’s going to be an ad-supported streaming service
It is a separate team that works with PV but is not part of it. In general IMDb is a good sub to work at - same pay, better WLB. The downside is considerable tech debt.
You will have a good wlb, as previously stated. People working on video are working closely with PV, but are not fully integrated. In terms of pay and benefits, it's still an Amazon company so you get the same perks.
Awesome division. Hands down the best within Amazon in terms of WLB.
They’re on Amazon’s Corp stuff (HR, benefits, pay bands, job levels, etc), but their business data is not as integrated.
Excellent culture, some legacy but good engineering leadership has been brought in to move more towards AWS tech and being more data driven.
Looks like MANY positions available. Mass exodus?
No, growing headcount - imdb has historically had very long tenure (10yrs+) and we are starting to see that change
So what you’re saying is ... mass exodus then
