I had an interview for EE position at Oculus research in Redmond office. I thought I did all the questions on white board correctly. But still got rejection. Can you tell what may be wrong?
Be happy that u r not going to work for a company without any morals
Apple works with foxconn and the plants that make apple parts have nets to catch factory workers that jump to commit suicide because it’s attempted so often. Don’t be so uppity.
I agree. Apple is not good but FB is worse. Evilness lies on a spectrum.
I think you need to rejoice. Do you really wanna work for FB?
Condolences. Keep trying!
Possibly “culture fit.” Did you wear a MAGA hat?
Hey . The same happened to me. I interviewed for swe role at FB. All my coding rounds were awesome. I got rejected after getting to the hiring committee phase. No feedback from the recruiters whatsoever!
No company shares feedback. There's nothing to gain and everything to lose (lawsuits).
But it’s not cool . They asked me to re-apply in 12 months. Not sure what to do different in the next attempt.
What do you mean by culture fit?
It’s that “intangible thing.” If you didn’t wear a MAGA hat, you probably didn’t fit in.
What is EE position? Electrical Engineering? What kind of work does it involve?
Yes. It’s electrical engineering. For designing products similar to Oculus rift etc...
that’s cool :)
Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. I also was interviewing with Oculus.
Interviews have become competitive. There could have been 5 other candidates who all solved all the questions correctly like you. The second metric is how fast you came up with a solution. There may be 3 others who just took 15 minutes less than others to finish off the question. The third metric is your behavior. There may two other who were more enthusiastic, courteous and funny than others. Finally they select the person who farted less and whose breath didn't smell like shit. So do well, do fast, behave well and fart less.
Sorry to hear :( Perhaps they went with another candidate they already had in a pipeline. Company as a whole plans to grow only 15% of workforce next year, compared to about 50% this year, so it’s gonna be more tough to get in.
