L5 Digital Marketing Manager @ AWS

Coming up on 2 yrs at AWS in Seattle. Have not received any raises or additional RSUs. Is that normal? What should I expect at this years compensation discussion? Started at $148K base, $24K 1st yr bonus, $19K 2nd yr bonus and 80 RSUs.

I know folks (non-amazon) who are getting way less in bay area so enjoy the fruits and keep pushing internally. If u want to do a salary check then apply outside.

If I am not mistaken, no raises means you're flagged as an LE based on what I've been told by others.

No, it can also mean your comp is already at/above target, which is more common these days

I am at 2 years and I got no raise and no refreshers and I was rated HV

Your base is already high for a digital marketing manager role..with stocks perfomimg well in the past 2 years,I doubt you LL receive any raise.. Good luck

Agree. Seems like you're already at the high end of the band, which the skyrocketing stock price did to quite a few people. Also (I think/based on my marketing experience in and outside of AWS) AWS has the most aggressive compensation multiple across all orgs. Not a fun position, but get some external offers to compare, or get promoted.

Yeah I was told I was at the higher end for an L5 marketer last year, but assumed I’d get some sort of increase in comp (either RSU or salary bump) after 2yrs. Seems like a raise (2-10% annually) is common place at every other company I’ve been with in the past. Guess Amazon is the exception. Thanks for the feedback!
