Lyft culture/difficulty
Lyft pays an insane amount for T5. I'm near Senior SDE at AWS and thinking of jumping ship once I get it. Does Lyft have a very demanding culture with that kind of pay? Is it insanely difficult to get in? All LC hard, or something? Are they big on downleveling? 6yoe 180TC

Lyft pays same as FB. $400k-$500k for L5. Refreshers for exceeds expectations are very good too. 6-10% gets PiP.
FWIW Snap pays the same, if not more.

I'm sure any SDE II who interviewed as SDE II will have higher. Probably 210 or so. I have been at Amazon the whole time, so I was promoted to the bottom of the band. There is no moving out of it unless you are in the top 30%. I have a wife and 2 kids and am surrounded by people who put in way more time than me. It's fair they get to be top of the band, their output is higher. But yeah...1.9% raise to base salary for me...

Yup, that's why I want to leave Amazon.
TC can be above 400k for Lyft, if they dont boot you before stock vests
Money isnt everything..... esp once you have enuf to support your family. (250 should be enuf tbh.) Time and less stress becomes more valuable. As we get older, we get wiser and see whats more important in one’s lives. :) Wish you all the best to get what you need and want for your family!
