Senior Software Engineer at Uber offer evaluation
I’ve got an offer from Uber for SWE 5a in SF Bay Area: * Cash: ~190k / year * RSUs: ~180k / year * Bonus: ~28k / year Total comes down to ~400k. I was told that you have to grow above 5a and hiring for higher levels is a rare exception, which I’m not. I have 10 yoe if that matters. Does this look any good or should I be disappointed?
How does Uber handle RSUs? Are you sure that isn't just an initial grant that will vest over 4 years?
Pretty sure, I already divided 4 year number provided to me by 4 to produce what you see above.
You can probably push for joining bonus. Otherwise great package
5A should mean an annual refresher of 105k as well. You want to x0.375 to get the annual income over 4 years

Good offer and also good timing with the offer as you might get relatively more stocks compared to people who joined pre-ipo due to current stock price.
Quite high imo. Also U stock is attractively priced right now. You'll get a good price on a lot of stock.
