I love my job but we work 60hr weeks and I didn’t get as much stock options as I would like. I could command more salary. My current options are estimated at 600k over a 6 year vesting period. I only have the first year vested so 100k. I really love my job, the ability to work remote, and live in a low CoL area. Would I be crazy to quit? I think I could get >150k remote as another startup. 4 yoe
How do you get remote positions. Share your secret.
Leave. Enjoy life. Earn more money
Do not leave, if you really like your job. Few people here love what they're working on, don't let it go for a few 1000 dollars
I’d suggest to start looking and see if you can actually nail a 150k all remote job that you ALSO really love... all remote is less easy to come by, that they pay that well is also rarer and that you love your job ... well, pushing into unicorn territory. Most people evaluate a position by those 3 things, right? Opportunity (experience, team, product, career), lifestyle (remote, free food, great boss, great area) and comp... usually you have to compromise in 1 for the better of the other 2...(as seems you’re doing in your current situation)
Yes, leave. Life’s too short for what if
I really like my job I just want more money or at least more stock for the hours I do
