I didnt get my h1b visa and will have to go to vancouver for one year to get L1 or h1 next year to come back to the states. I have been at MS in the same team for 1.5 year and I was going to either switch team or go to another company for learning and different experiences, if I happen to get h1 visa. As I will have to be in MS vancouver office for one year, would there be any good options in terms of changing teams or going to another company? Or should I just stick with the current team, which I will work remotely from the vancouver office, for one year? Thanks.
If your manager is the one who will sponsor your H1b for next year then why switch team ? Unless you find a Canadian team willing to sponsor your us h1b
You are right if you only think about the visa. But i wanted to switch teams for experience purposes. And I was wondering if there would be a better option to get both while in Vancouver. I have learned a lot from the current team but thought it would be worth going to different teams to expereicne different things. Thats it.
I would suggest stick with current team for another year. You already know the work and team so it will be easier, compare to the new team in which you would be new to the domain and project and getting the ramp up from remote might be not that easy.
There are some awesome opportunities in Vancouver and it's a beautiful city to call home. https://careers.hootsuite.com/global/en/vancouver
Think long term where you want to be in a year or two and let that guide You.
Why is it easier to get a visa while in Canada? Honestly, i didn‘t get it. Please explain the advantages compared to applying directly for an US Visa. Thx
