To all the recruiters out there, who don’t have a courtesy to update the candidate after the interview, don’t you feel ASHAMED of not doing your job properly? Happened to me for Walmart eCommerce and VMware. VMware recruiter even sent me a feedback after the onsite saying the feedback from the team was positive, and now not replying to my emails. What does it take to reply and say, “hey xxx, sorry the team has decided to move ahead with another candidate” I wish Karma will bite you, when you are searching jobs and get a similar treatment from another recruiter. Regards A frustrated interviewee!
Recruiters usually don’t give you the reason why you failed because they don’t want to get their ass sued. Nowadays whenever you say “no” to someone, they can sue you for discrimination 🙂
Can’t agree more. However I think if someone spent a lot of their time interviewing at your company, you should send them a rejection email as a courtesy
You may try to get the feedback in a year when they approach you for the interview again
this is so annoying. i’ve begun to accept this as a norm now.
Happened to me for Instacart. No updates after onsite.
Yeah, this is why I generally assume rejection or at best being second-stringed if I don't hear back within a week.
Did you hear back from them?
No need for the frustration. Ghosting is normal in tech recruitment. There's a time that I did a phone tech interview and then the recruiter ghosted me. 3 months later another recruiter from the same company reached out and said that I did well in my phone interview and want to arrange on-sites. Maybe it's just a matter of time.
I am guessing Amazon?
