no HR

so I work at a small family business. Which means there's a great deal of nepotism. Family members getting top positions of stuff they're not well educated about and make decisions that make no sense and then get mad at us for not executing it correctly (while they're completely hands off the entire planning process) if they do not pan out well (w/ limited to no budget for it). Also we're forced to work over 40 hrs w/o overtime to meet their demands. Meanwhile, there is no HR to voice the issues.

But they probably pay you well if you didn’t leave them yet.

Leave

Also- why do people think HR is an employees friend? They exist to prevent lawsuits vs the business. That is all.

Haha oh wow. My first job out of college was like this. It was the most toxic environment I've ever been in. The family cares about the family. You don't matter. You can't change it, either accept it or leave. The place I worked employed a half-brother of the owner. The other owner was never around and didn't care what he did, he just cared that the guy had money. It dragged everyone down. The wife of the owner also kinda sorta worked there too. She would come in and try to randomly QA our work while all her wild children ran around the office being loud. She would also try to micro manage her husband by calling and texting various employees asking what he was doing right then. That was 5 years ago. The couple divorced, the business has downsized to 3 (from 7) and one of the three is the half brother who is just dead weight on the payroll. So anyway that was just a personal anecdote to say these sorts of "businesses" are so dysfunctional, learn it now.
