Women in Tech, What is work life balance in your company? are you allowed more than 2 days work from home? I know that is highly dependent on your team or manager but am willing to gauge the risk in changing company. I have an year old and I spend on average 4 hours M-F but finish all my projects on time by working at night. I spend quality time with my son and finding my job chill but I am paid very less. My TC is $132k
There are remote only jobs. DataStax is one where I know two people are fully remote.
There’s a job board, werk, that caters to professional who are looking for more flexible work options (remote, WFH, part time, job sharing, etc. Full disclosure: I’m friends with the CEO, but was not paid to post this or anything.
It varies by manager and work group. If a high performer on my team said they wanted to do this and they were still achieving results I wouldn’t have any issue. Tough thing would on call (at Amazon) you might not be able to keep that schedule during those times. I know of some people that really like to travel and so they work remote for Weeks at a time. I have to say though, as a fellow working mom all that time with your son sounds awesome, but when are you getting time for yourself? I’m worried this would cause burn out - but I get it, this is a very personal topic!
No major company will allow you to WFH even 1 day week. I would have loved that option myself. But it is mosty not ppssible long term
Lol this is so blatantly false my dude. Stop spreading fake news.
We have ppl who work from home 1 day a week
