I have been applying to companies like Walmart, Cisco, PayPal, Qualcomm etc and I’m getting rejected right at the screening level. I’m currently working at a no name Indian bank and from a tier 3 college but I personally think my resume is decent as far a work experience and achievements section. Do these companies care a lot about your background? TC : 15L Yoe : 2.4 #tech
most product based companies will ignore employees from bank and service based orgs, unless you have excellent resume!! yes there is a proxy screening and non selection criteria
Sad to know, I have an offer from Epsilon for SWE2 role with barley any TC difference. Would it be a good switch to eventually make it to good companies?
I know people from Infosys, Wipro , hp working in these companies. Maybe it’s market or your domain. I suggest talk to some recruiter consultants to build up your profile
You must be sending the same resume everywhere; customise it for each application.
Less people know a magic sauce, but its a little dangerous too, so during tough market conditions like these, if there is an opening for critical and niche skills companies also find less related talent in market, as most people by nature will hang tight to their jobs, it the time when calculated risk takers shine. Just try to upgrade to a more niche and tough to find skillset ,if you can.
Recruiters are screening as apples to apples, if a single requirement is not matched, rejected.
