I have an offer from oracle, offer letter's TnC says, if I leave company before 18 months I need to return my signing bonus. I thought 12 months is like standard in industry. Oracle has 18 months as standard ?
You never know when one has to jump. 12 is typical and would be good to have that if it doesn't work out. Oracle culture/politics will take time to adjust!
I had heard 18 months as well from a buddy who joined Oracle some time back.
Thanks for your answer.
18 months standard at oracle
That’s not unusual in the industry. Uber has it go from 100% payback to 0% payback between 12 to 24 months. I think it’s 50% at 18 months.
6 months training , 6 months politics , 6 months prep and interview for next job and you are done 😝
Have your lawyer review and get that changed to 1 yr. Mine was 2 years at Samsung and I had it changed to 1.
Samsung balls must be small
You should jump at 25 month mark as that will include your stock vest.
How long did it take from verbal offer to written offer?
Like forever
Lol, how many weeks? I’ve been waiting forever.
i don’t have this problem since I didn’t get any sign on
It should be fine! Do you really want to jump to different company within 1.5yrs? What job role is this for?
Thanks for the input. Chances of changing job within 1.5 years are very less. But if everyone is getting an option of one year in oracle, I would like to have the same. That's why asked this question.
Mine is 18 months too
