In need of advice. We know DD has played several of us on compensation so with inflation times are getting snug financially, I’m considering picking up a contact position with #Nike to stack my funds. Do I have to disclose that I’m 31 weeks pregnant or just go into labor? Asking bc I don’t want to be termed & need to collect those checks. 😩 #maternityleave #contract #pregnancy
You’re not under any obligation to tell any employer that you’re pregnant.
Thank you, I guess I’m more concerned about maintaining the relationship. What’s the best way to go about it?
I think the easiest way would be to say you have some upcoming leave planned and not get into details. Depending on your plans, babies don’t always arrive on schedule, so you may just want to say you’re still working out the exact dates, but you’ll want to have an idea of how much time you’d like to take off.
Yeah please tell what DD do
You have car? Become a Dasher?
LOL hell no
$65/hr wfh vs whatever change they give dashers? I’ll pass.
TC?
I’ll be honest, this is tough. A company is going to hire you because they need you to work. That position is open because they have work that needs to be done. So to take that position and then immediately go out on maternity or FMLA for 4 - 6 months is a huge dick move. It’s not illegal and you don’t have to disclose it, but, if I were your hiring manager I would never forget it and I certainly would never have your best interests in mind after that. Just being honest
Thanks for your input. Thinking like this is why women (1) delay starting families & (2) why there are so many working laws to protect them during these tough situations.
If you don’t want honest answers then don’t ask the question. It’s such a “tough situation”. No one told you to get pregnant, but you want to take advantage of a company because you are? Imagine being so entitled that you think because someone jizzed in you that the world owes you everything you want
What did DD do?
