The other day I read about a $60k (or was it $40k) a year pre-school in the Bay Area. The only real selling points were 1) it's expensive and 2) it feeds into very selective private primary schools. WTF?!?
Wtf? What school is that?
We are all born gold diggers.
Lol. I would send my kids to India to get their education. My school fees was $9 for 3 months. My college fees was $1000/year.
Bad choice.
Turned out good for me.
How much does one need to make to comfortably afford 60k per kid for pre School given all other expenses in Bay area. 2M per year?
Your math needs some work. Most people only have 1 or 2 kids in preschool at a time. Are your other expenses >1.88M?
I have two kids in private schools. Comfortably affording something implies large savings and not pinching pennies.

Nueva school. It's not just the tuition, they expect a level of donations...
And teachers don’t make that much... where is the money going? The brand?
So are you paying 60$ for every hour of kid being in school? Why not just hire private teachers?
Harker is around 37k a year plus donations. It does feed into good universities. Not worth it.
Isn't Harker a secondary school? At $37k, it is on-par with it's Northeast old money peers.
There is also a Harker Preschool.
