Yep
rethinking my application now 🤣
Looking for pip fodder
No please stick with applying there. I think Amazon acts as a honeypot for morons who enjoy being treated like dirt and treating others like dirt. Please, follow through with the application.
Is this real? I got laid off from AMZN in early 2000s and I know from former colleagues and news; AMZN is usually pretty conservative/careful about this situation, as it could lead to bad press. As in they won’t hire to barely onboard, only to fire in mths
I saw a manager hire to fire. Well it was I have headcount. Candidate pool is weak. If I don’t fill up my headcount I look bad, and have same pip target. So they hired a normally unqualified candidate to meet hiring quota fully knowing if it didn’t work out they could be pipped.
But if that candidate performs they can't just fire them. The candidate actually fails in this sense.
I find this hard to believe
I was also shocked, but I believe it. There was a leak that said Amazon execs worry that they'll run out of people to hire at some point (which is also a running joke on Blind).
Because it's not true for corporate roles despite what the article claims. Go to the internal old fart tool. Median tenure for Seattle (mostly corporate) is around 2-2.5 years but you can see how it's under a year worldwide which includes fulfillment center workers.
Is it true for roles like SDEs , PMs, etc?
Article includes all employees including warehouse workers drivers etc I’m sure it is very skewed towards that group
Also find this hard to believe
“I find this hard to believe.”, then proceeds to provide zero evidence unlike the article. Ok blind.
The article didn't provide any evidence, it alluded to evidence, but didn't actually provide any
Warehouse workers ?
they didn’t pee in the bottle like they were told
Must bring ur own piss bottles
Is this for corporate roles?
That's absolutely insane
Absolutely fake as well!
It' includes warehouse, but there was also this It also says that the issue is widespread throughout the company, not just with warehouse workers; from entry level roles all the way up to vice presidents, the lowest attrition rate for one of the company’s 10 tiers of employees was almost 70 percent, with the highest reaching a staggering 81.3 percent.
