I’ve got an interview coming up with ShutterStock. It’s the first interview so I’m expecting it to be brief and nontechnical. However, the reviews about this company are pretty bad. I have 2 questions for engineers who worked or currently working there: 1. Why the bad reviews? 2. What was the interview process like for you?
1. Because it's true. It's not the most terrible place to be though.. it depends on your situation. IMO it makes sense to join if you don't have big names on your CV yet or don't have experience working on large scale projects. To say the least I think it's decent as a stepping stone. TC can be ok or peanuts depending on your location. 2. This was my process: Recruiter chat (non-technical), hiring manager chat (to learn more about my background and fit), 2 programming interviews, 1 system design interview, 1 interview with product manager, 1 interview with a VP, and final wrap-up with hiring manager.
When you put it that way I guess it’s not that bad. I have 2 YOE and this would be a great stepping stone like you said. I’ll continue with my interview process, thanks for sharing!
This is OP btw just changed my username since making this post
