AWS solution team questions

Hi guys, I have some questions regarding been a SDE at the AWS solutions team. I understand AWS SAs are sales driven, I came from a enterprise web service development background, now thinking about joining as a SDE for solutions open source development. 1. Are SDEs in AWS solutions engineering more like solutions engineers - sales driven? 2. Is being a SDE at AWS solutions engineering good for the a SDE’s career growth, or it is a setback? 3. What is the software development process at the AWS solutions engineering team, I am used to decide docs and architecture software, not sure if is the same process since solutions architects are involved?
