I guess i ll be Pip'ed next week. I'm a new hire sde Retail within 6 mo. Got a mail today from manager with a meeting request including the hrbp in it as well. Previous 1:1 have been okayish till date. We mostly discussed about tasks working on and blocks causing delay and how to resolve it. I'm putting in my hard work and burnout hours. Manager isn't quite open and communicative since begining. Nothing that i can do about it. Now i feel being deemed as most inefficient in the team by manager. Used to be clear and communicative in my sprint tasks and issues. What do you guys think ? Any suggestions of anyone who has gone through and how to tackle? Would highly appreciate. #tech #sde #layoffs

I declined another amazon recruiter today. Second this week. I avg 2-3 a week my LinkedIn is not open to new opportunities. Annoying. They are vultures.
You know you don't need to reply right? LinkedIn won't penalize you if you ignore recuriter emails 😀
Actually that is not true. Recruiters get metrics (from LinkedIn) on the likelihood you will respond. This also impacts the ranking in search results. LinkedIn profiles can essentially die. This could take weeks if not months to restore the ranking. Time I may not have if suddenly out of work

This is good. But the manager name should be mentioned and not the team. Because managers change....
totally agree. at Amz, this toxic culture often flows top down, hence fields for mentioning manager (lp-monkey-alias) as well as team name.
Sorry for you OP, hope you land on your feet strong. Looks like Amazon really doesn’t want ppl to succeed when they are off track by mentoring. Instead they put you on PIP and mentally break you down. Amazon should be the last of the last option for anyone looking for a job.
amazon interviews are nothing short of humiliation . The interviewers have zero manners , interviewing etiquettes . Recently one of my interviewers had a constantly crying and yelling kid with pressure cooker going off during the one hour interview . It wasn’t a one off kid freaking out moment , it was constant and not even once did the interviewers apologize for it . And all this while giving out the most toughest coding problem out there for a QAE role. The recruiters share prep material which is totally off from what the interviewers want to humiliate you with. At the end he said - I have more questions but you were struggling with this. Absolutely worst company and team to even interview with.

Agree. One of my amazon interviews straight up yelled at me for 10 minutes and he was a manager that had been there for years.

Amazon hires people who don’t and shouldn’t need mentoring or leadership because they hire managers who can’t mentor or lead. Sorry to hear about your experience OP.
A lot of sde 2 become manager there. Looks like people join there to either move to another country or become a manager.
Most of the complaints in our channel is about TPM to SDM. No one has problems with SDE to SDM. Now days SDM L5 is rare and more people go L6 SDE to SDM from eng track.
