Addepar on-site coming up. Anyone has any experience with what that is like? How is the tech deep dive and architecture interviews? And the product collab ? #tech #interview
Curious why leave Meta? Is it realistic that Addepar TC will be close?

How did this happen? (Meta Stock)
The tech deep dive, when I did it, was a conversation about a project you have worked on. They will ask you how you implemented certain things, why you made certain decisions, and some of the challenges you faced. What they are looking for is that you have actually worked on something and how involved you really were. Think about group projects when there was 1 or 2 people who did all the work, but the other members would pretend they did it. If you talk about a story where you were one of those 1 or 2 people that actually did the work, you will pass with flying colors. If you talk about a project where you didn't really do the bulk of the work it will be very obvious and you will probably fail this round. To prepare for this, I wrote down the project I worked on most recently, and really outlined how each part worked and why certain things were in place. Even though I literally wrote all the code, I didn't want to forget anything, and practice makes perfect. As for the Architecture Interview, it starts off with a high level design. Not many users so its more of the flow of data in and data out. Than you build upon it with more details. You add more features. You add more users, the design changes. This is also a conversation. What I have heard from the people who give these interviews is that they also are assessing how you take feedback. If they give you suggestions, take them. Do not pretend to know better, and disregard your interviewer. I started end of last year, so I doubt the process has changed much since. Good luck! Relax, you got this!
