I'm well settled in the bay area with my wife (31) - both are working as engineers, total income = 450K. WLB is great for both of us, we hit the gym after work, hang out on weekends with friends or go for hiking/biking. Enjoy 3 vacations in a year e.g. Hawaii, Europe, Tahoe, NY. We don't feel like having kids as we feel it's too much of responsibility and will limit our vacations etc. Can you advise if it's okay to not have kids, will we regret it in the long term when we're are in our 40;s. TC:300K
Weird flex but ok
25/Male/Dating (7yrs) same here, not interested in kids and probably won't ever due to laziness and love of freedom. TC 240k
Same here, neither of us want kids, at least not right now. We're both 30yo Indians, and we all know what that means.... Nosy relatives pestering us to have kids. I wish they would mind their own fucking business.
Lots of people are making that choice. Aren’t you glad that your parents didn’t make that choice.
Nope. Wouldn't know a difference.
?
You can always adopt
You can always adopt later on if you changed your mind. There are too many parentless kids on this planet anyway. Egg/sperm freezing is an option but there's no guarantee it'll work. It's also a lot to handle for women because of the insane amounts of hormones. See how you feel in a couple years. Your wife has at least until 35.
Do make sure you don't change your mind post 35 of having your own kids. As then the risk to wife and kids health is high. Else others already said, you can always adopt a kid.
“and will limit our vacations” 🙄
My dad did it late (43 ish) and got the best of both worlds IMO. Make sure you freeze a bunch of sperm and eggs so you don't risk birth defects!
