Affirm: Lead/Staff(L7) Product Manager. TC 490k(base 225, RSUs for first year 265). Affirm giving you exact number of shares right now and it's fixed, no more any stupid floor price. Role is Remote, RSU vests monthly. Obviously bigger scope, I'm not scary of layoffs, but have some concerns to not have Fintech experience at all and never worked as L7 before Amazon: Sr PM-Tech(L6) Product Manager. TC 400k. Work will be in the same domain(ads) as I'm working right now, team seems pretty mature, WLB should also be not a problem 95% in cash for first year For Amazon it's final offer, for Affirm I didn't negotiate yet (any rooms to increase base or RSU?) Folks at Affirm please comment how is the WLB for product L7 might be. Obviously Lead Pm role will be a huge promo for me ( Sr PM now). I'm also thinking that getting comp in cash right now is huge benefit so Amazon might be better choice here( for Affirm it's 40% base, 60 % RSU) TC:250 YOE: 8 as PM #amazon #affirm
Affirm is either in great danger of being a complete bust or great target for M&A. Fintech space in general is now decently valued and I would take the risk with affirm
What are you talking about? AFRM is already public.
@figure.. did I ever mention it is private. You do know that public companies can go through M &A right or even bankruptcy 😂
Damn you’re going from epam systems to those 2?! Good fucking job
What would you recommend?)
How do Affirm refreshers work?
Guaranteed every 2 years. Performance ongoing during any of the cycles (about 30% of people get this)
I must warn you. FinTech is boring. BNPL is scam.
BNPL is just a bad business model with so much competition in my mind. There’s no differentiation between the product as a consumer so just a race to the bottom on price / whoever is best at securing partnerships gets the most market share. I’d skip Affirm. I’m sure someone from Affirm will chime and it and tell me all the ways my take is wrong but heads up I won’t read it 🤷♀️
I would pick Affirm in a heartbeat. A lot of interesting tech work in BNPL in coming years.
OP Are you sure those RSUs are annual and not split across 3 years? Edit: Found out that certain roles don’t get the 3 year + 2 year RSU overlap.
AFRM first then AMZN when they buy AFRM.
Thanks all, signed with Affirm, was able to negotiate offer to increase TC by 10% at the end
Congratulations OP!!
Congratulations
Why not apply Amazon L7 directly ?
Seems like bar (and comp) at Amazon for L7 is higher than for Affirm
Absolutely. But you can give it a shot and the worst thing is downgrade to L6. OP probably in Bay Area ? Petty standard TC for amazon.
