I like airbnb. I would pick it over Facebook

airbnb don't have lower bar, but definitely lower technical challenge... so far it is nothing more than glorified Craigslist. Moving on into wanabe Expedia
Every one saying airbnb has more growth potential simply because it's preipo do not understand the market and do not understand fb. In the past 5y fb has grown 800% ... In the same time period many companies have IPOed, how many of them outperformed fb? 0.
Clever accounting trick. FB IPO'd at $50 then dropped to $20 before growing to $170+. If you consider the IPO price, FB has grown 200-250% (similar to GOOG) not the spectacular 800% that you quote.
For ppl who bought it at 20, it did grow 9 times now with stock at 181. Considering ipo 50$ it did grow ~3.5 times which is still phenomenal. Your numbers don't add up.

Airbnb seems like a cult. They don't do anything difficult engineering wise but they never shut up about their development practices. It reminds when of Soylent bragging about their scalability when all they did was place a few thousands of orders every day.
Just had this decision and chose FB. Airbnb is amazing but their compensation sucks. I know two other friends who chose Google over Airbnb for the same reasons.
What are you talking about? Totally depends on interview. I have friends whose Airbnb offers are much higher than fb.. Forget about goog
Well you have ‘friends’, but I actually went through the process. Did these friends negotiate or do well in their FB interviews? I had 7 offers and actually got the max for New Grads for both FB and Airbnb and FB was higher and all liquid. Unless you are talking about Airbnb returning interns, they have a separate compensation package from us regular New Grads.
