I am out of this shit already but Alexa is such a failed org. It was always obvious that the final winner of personal assistants is going to be the best AI. Microsoft has ChatGPT. Google is building Bard. Amazon is still making a new team per functionality 💩 How do people working in Alexa feel now? Why do you even stay? What do you think is going to happen to Alexa? Old TC: £80K New TC: £200K
Did you get paid? Well, stop worrying so much about your corporate overlords. You'll never be happy. Get that bag, go home and relax
where's your new TC from
Trading firm
Microsoft does not have chatgpt, openAI has chatgpt. You can not become a great company on the shoulder of another company.
Why not ? Google became one by acquiring Gmail and YouTube
Does the worlds most used search engine not earn a place on your list? Not to mention , the most popular smart phone OS.
Alexa will be integrated with systems like ChatGPT and will reduce their costs significantly. Catch is response time, these assistants need to act fast.
Sadly Google was watching and decided they won't do anything to improve Google Home either. So virtual assistants are dead tech
Alexa have 10k employees: That got to be a joke
Alexa is actually in peoples’ homes though. It’s not like there’s a ChatGPT device you can buy for $25 on sale and plop onto your kitchen counter. They can build or acquire some AI and still be miles ahead overall.
But everyone has phones, a decent app would immediately replace Alexa.
We use Alexa for 1. Play song 2. Set countdown timer Would we miss Alexa, no.
Alexa has been a shit org for at least six years. All the original folks left after the launch and they replaced them with an army of college hires.
They buy someone like Microsoft did
Sure but I guess I am confused why Alexa has 10K employees at the first place.
Umm not anymore?
