I have been in Amazon for 5+ years as SDE L5. Trying for promotion to L6. Delivered a few services and tools which are already in Prod but it looks like it will take another 12-18 months for promotion. Currently leading a potentially high impact project. 2022 I was HV3/TT and expected comp was 260k which dropped to 225k because of stocks. What should I do? TC $225k YOE 15 #amazon #amzn

Do you have a mentor? You should have the projects reviewed by a mentor to validate scope. I'm not gonna suggest leaving. The market's gonna be rough for a bit. Likely till the end of this year.
L5 with 15 YOE is somewhat like me which is L4 with 7 YOE 🥲 I feel you

In 2022, you are HV3/TT that means you should get promoted in 2023/Q1 2024.. if you are saying it will take another 2 yrs that means you are HV1 in 2022 which mean you didn't do good job in 2021.
