I'm yet another SDE shocked to find out I'm in FOCUS. I've read every post I could find on Amazon PIVOT & PIP but still have the following questions. 1. What is the current process now? Focus -> Pivot (2 or 3 options?) -> PIP (How long?) -> appeal? 2. Can you appeal at the Pivot step, or has that option been moved to the end of the PIP process? 3. What is the typical compensation if you choose to leave immediately at the Pivot step? I've seen answers that range from 1 week to 3 months. 4. What is the compensation reduced to if you chose PIP and don't pass? Half as much? (Maybe your pay and benefits during PIP + the half-compensation total to more than the initial pay-out.) Answers to any of these from someone who has been through this first-hand would be appreciated. Thanks. #Amazon #PIP #PIVOT

How long have you been at Amazon and why do u think is the real reason behind you being on focus?
Almost 4yrs. I think it started with me being implicitly disrespectful to a few team members. Not anything overt (no name-calling or arguments or anything), but just enough to make them think I didn't care what they thought. That created a stream of passive-aggressive complaint's to management, to which I was unaware of. Then all it took was some cherry-picking of past projects that had any given flaw, like they were not deployed on the projected date, and it was easy to paint a negative picture using those cherry-picked examples.
Ah I see, thanks for the sharing the story
