Amazon In Person On-site?

Hi everyone, Just passed the phone screen for Amazon for an L6 role in AWS. Recruiter said that the interviews will take place in the Ruby building in Seattle and will not be virtual. Is everyone at Amazon back in office now?

Not sure if people are back but the Ruby building sucks.

Amazon is still working from home. Directors should be deciding what their teams do going forward. You'd hope that the work from office/home decision would be a collaborative one. But you may disagree with consensus.

Interesting, curious as to why this team opted to be in the office again. Might just cancel my on-site to be honest

I know a lot of teams that are hybrid ATM, fully back to the office is unheard of in my location. Are you looking for full-remote? I'd say double check before canceling. L5 and above can get permission from director to WFH (even if your team is in office)

If this is true, it’s just a disaster waiting to happen.

That's weird..haven't heard of a team requiring in person interviews since 2020
