Hi everyone, I just received an offer for a Level 6 Sr. Program Manager role (non-tech) overseeing global learning and training strategy for Amazon Delivery Technology (AmDT). Base salary is $130k; 1st year bonus is $35k; 2nd year bonus is $26k; will receive 30 RSU's. I have 10 years of experience in the learning and development space. Thoughts on if this is a good offer, and any suggestions on any area of compensation where I could negotiate? Graph of estimated total 4-year compensation is listed below. Thanks! #amazonsalary
Nah l6 program managers on my team come at $180k. Ask for $200k, then they may meet around $180k. Also yoe? This is for Seattle, program manager role is not respected and paid lower than other job families
Yes, this role is Seattle-based. I figured Program Manager salaries could vary depending on which department they're in (tech, product dev, etc.). This PM role is in the delivery/transportation area. You still think base salary should be much higher around $180?
If it's non Bay/NYC/Seattle I think it's decent offer
I'm currently based elsewhere but this role would require eventual relocation to Seattle.
You should than negotiate min of 10%. I think they cap the base but there is always room for TC to increase
Check the amazon pip culture before joining
This is non tech Program Manager role. PIP is majority for SDE / technical roles
Nice chart. Is that you (using excel) or is that chart from a website? Also, update us with what you finally do and the comp you get. 👍.
That is comp calculator from levels.fyi
Was wondering if you might be willing to share an update on how negotiations went. Looking into Amazon Program Manager roles now and am trying to prep myself.
This looks like an L5 offer. You should be targeting north of 200k TC.
Where do you think I should negotiate? Higher salary and first year signing bonus?
Signing bonus and stock, that’s where they have the greatest flexibility. At the end of the day, speaking purely from the numbers, odds are low that you’ll make it to year 3 and 4 vests. That’s why the comp structure is the way it is, Amazon has very high attrition. Push for a hefty year 1 sign on bonus but also look to target +120k in stock.
