I applied to Amazon Seattle location and completed online assessment yesterday. Today I got a call from Amazon recruiter saying that they are hiring in Nashville as well and they would like me to come for an onsite for job in Nashville. She mentioned that interview rounds in Nashville would be one less than Seattle. Which one should I go for? TC - peanuts
I would choose Seattle for the scope of making networks and ability to move around easily.
Omg, so now they are doing this sort of crap to hire for Nashville???, one less interview round????, seriously???
I'm sure there's internal docs to confirm or deny this haha
One less interview means a blitz event.
And just to answer your question, go for Seattle.
Nashville is all logistics teams right now. So some really interesting problems but they are building most of them from the ground up from what I have seen
Does TC take a hit in Nashville vs Seattle?
Same TC in every office except bay/nyc are ~15% higher
Wow, interesting. I would have thought Seattle would be higher as well.
One less? That's strange unless it's for a downlevel. Confirm with her that you're interviewing for the same level and team for each one. Also - the biggest thing that is weighted is the bar raiser and hiring manager. Both loops will have both. While I don't see one extra round helping much, I don't think it'll hurt much too
Whenever Amazon does accelerated hiring events, they tend to have 1 less interview. It's not just Nashville. I was told the same thing for a position in Bay area.
I had 1 less interview in Seattle because it was a blitz. Not a uniquely Nashville thing. That being said, have you been to either of the cities? They're quite different. Nashville is pretty cool if you're into music and is probably much cheaper to live in, meaning that TC will go a lot further.
TC is probably the same so go with the lower cost of living

How much should your net worth be by age 30?
One less is not very enticing given limited tech companies in Nashville. If AMZN can offer u job in Nashville w/o any interviews, I'd say go for it then
