I'd like to know what the rules are during focus or coaching. What happens if you meet the target goals communicated and the goal post is suddenly shifted? Can you do anything? Also can your manager move you into pivot at any stage? Tc 160k
Focus doesn’t have any rules. Most of the times, employee is not even informed that they are in focus. There is no coaching plan or targets/goals. So there is no way you can say you met or missed the goals. It’s all managers discretion. Only once you are moved into pivot, they will give you a written pivot plan with goals and timelines. So focus is very difficult to navigate.

I'm in a targeted coaching plan - does this mean I'm in Pivot or Focus? I haven't received an option of a severance pay yet so guessing I'm in Focus for now. My goals are pretty achievable and manager seems happy with me so far. But I have been thinking of leaving for a while now and will do so even if I succeed at my coaching plan. Would you suggest doing minimal work and leaving with severance or succeeding at my coaching plan and leaving 2-3 months later?

Thank you AAPL and NVDA
Yes you can be put into pivot at anytime if manager feels you are not meeting the goals. Don’t even have to let you know you are on focus. If I were you, I would do minimal work and Bounce.
