On OneUI 4.0. Reminds me of the good old 2.5 days, because 3.0 stability was a little iffy. Now we are back full force with an amazing, fast/smooth as F*ck UI with some really nice new features and extra functions. Anyone else on OneUI 4.0? How you liking it? P.S good job Google & Samsung
Honestly Nexus used to be the best but Pixel Era Android vanilla doesn't seem to have the minerals that Samsung infuses into OneUi
Why exactly is google releasing new android like every week, when there is almost 0 changes or features? Wouldnt it be better to come up with some big update every 3 years or so and security updates in meantime?
> "big update every 3 years" Something like Android9 to Android12 all in one go?
Yeah, why not? I am on android forever and I don't see significant changes since like 4 ๐ They move some icons, make something smaller, bigger, some notification stuff and thats it. If you don't read full release note after each release that 99.99 % of people don't do, you have no idea what was added if it is not visible
Lucky. It's been a disaster for Pixel and OnePlus owners so far. Should have added an option for "hate it". On all brands though my biggest complaint is that Android12 introduces a feature that silently kills and process with more than 32 child processes. This is extremely anti power user and has broken things like Termux, Andronix, antivirus, DeX functionality (screen share on external display) and more. They're supposedly rolling out a developer toggle in Android 12L but it's unlikely to be added to devices that already have Android12.
Ah, I've heard of this. Apparently Oneplus has been doing this for a long time but now Google started doing it officially. But given it's Android, there's always a fix, official or otherwise.
There isn't. Android isn't the open platform it used to be. The closest workaround for devices is an ADB command to max out the process limit. This isn't ideal as it leaves a lot of monitoring overhead going on. Also it resets on every reboot so if you want to use some of this broken functionality you better have a separate PC and a cable nearby.
