Been in anxiety for last 3 years. Several factors got me into it but since then its been a struggle and seems like is in full swing right now. Yoga has kind of been helping, but looking for fellow blinders who were/are living with anxiety disorder and, if not got rid of it, got it under control and is no more bothering socially and at work? P.S.: no meds solutions
Try Ashwagandha
Sleeping 8hrs uninterrupted would help too.
Sleep is all good. The anxiety is just very sporadic in day time.
Stop caring too much .. don't put yourself in others' shoes always .. be a little selfish
Sage advice.
Got to remind myself of that (more frequently)
Lift weights, meditate, avoid caffeine and sleep 8 hours.
Have been doing all that, has reduced the frequency of occurance. But it is still there!
See a doctor. You may need meds. It can get better, but once your body is flooded with cortisol and other chemicals, it can be like you body is stuck on hamster wheel. Acupuncture and adaptogenic herbs can also help. Make sure you are getting proper nutrition and sleep.
I finally gave-in to meds after years of dealing with Anxiety. The meds have helped me tremendously and I continue to take a low dose SSRI.
I had REALLY bad anxiety for a number of years and didn’t know it. I went to therapy for years and took up cycling to try and help it but that only worked to an extent. I finally went to a psychiatrist and they prescribed me an SSRI. After two or three weeks of taking it I said to myself, “This is what normal people feel like.” Take this with a grain of salt, as I know it doesn’t work for everyone. I hope you feel better.
It was so bad for me, it took >6 months if not a year of: "oh wow, I'm finally better now" "Oh wow, I'm better than before, finally done" Rinse and repeat
What is it you want to know?
User Stories which have helped them cope.
Coping with what? Anxiety is a symptom of disbalance between your mind (what you think), heart (where you are drawn towards, what you want to do) and body (the way you feel). The root is in how you live your life, how you see yourself. If you are managing your actions constantly with rationality and ignoring your feelings in the moment - this is a sure path to anxiety. For example, if you are anxious approaching a girl this 1) mislabeled excitement 2) a result of your distorted beliefs and thinking where you see it as a problem with variables that needs to be solved. Instead, if you look at relationship as a natural thing that is very enjoyable, then you look for that in women you meet and there is simply no room for anxiety because it doesn’t make sense. You’re excited and you’re having fun! In my case I was living my life in a calculated logical way and ignoring the way I felt about work/environment/life, ignoring what I really wanted to do. I started meditating, listening to my body, doing things I wanted to do and my anxiety naturally resolved itself. I never took any medication.
Several years ago, I saw a therapist for a full year, and worked through a self-help book that he recommended outside our meetings. It changed my life for the better.
May you share the book title?

You will periodically struggle with this all your life. Exercise helps, sleep helps, introspection helps. I found meditation made it worse (as have others). Pot makes it worse. Caffeine makes it worse. Weightlifting helps. Etc. But actually the thing no one seems to mention is this: getting even one of all those things on your plate done helps. For anyone who is a planner or thinker, life debt piling up creates s huge source of anxiety. Balance that portfolio. Get your trust done. Clean your sink. Patch that wall. Etc etc. A huge list of little things piling up is incredibly stressful for planner types and the relief is getting it done.
I quit Google because of severe anxiety and panic attacks. Took almost 3 years off work. Back working now. Therapy helped a lot.
Did your approach to work and like in general changed over the 3 years? In what way?
What'd you do for the 3 years? Did you go back to work in the same field/environment, or do something completely different?
