I interviewed for an ASIC verification position at Apple. 10+ yrs experience. Intw went ok. 6 people interviwed me. I could not answer one technical question (tried but was stuck; interviwer gave me a hint but eventually moved on to the next question). There were a couple more I got stuck but figured it out with no help. No offer:(. Just heard today. I asked for intw feedback from the recruiter but no response. Do folks who get the offer ace every question asked? I would think in a day long intw, not answering one or two questions should be okay. Isnt? Thoughts? Comments?
Interview questions are only a part of the evaluation. Your past work experience also matters a lot. I have seen people who didn't answer all questions offered jobs just because their past experience is in that area of interest. In interviews, the questions asked are driven by your past work. The more relevant experience, the more questions related to it, and the more you answer, the better the chances of offer. As someone said in above comments, there may be another candidate who's a "better match" to the role. Sit tight, you may get the offer. Or don't lose heart thinking it's your inability to ace the interview. Just keep trying. That's all that is in your hands. From a personal experience, i recently interviewed at Apple. I answered every question. But based on the interaction, my assessment is that they are looking for someone more experienced than I am. I may not get an onsite call after all. Keeping fingers crossed.
Sorry to say they look at top school and company . They don’t hire from western digital unless you are like a fellow or something.
I can totally relate to swarga comments. I answered all their questions but they are specifically looking for ppl with more experience in a niche area like Core and C++ testbench while I was server and SysVerilog testbench. You just gotta keep trying .
I think most likely you re on hold by some other candidates decisions, only after he/she reject it and you'll be the next. This happens in a lot company and actually they got result pretty fast
If the recruiter already told that you didn’t make it to the next round, then definitely it’s not hinged on other candidate’s choice.
