Hello 👋 blind community Asking for a friend. She got this offer from Apple, looks like she is being lowballed. Base: 165k Stock: 105k over 4 years Sign on: 10k YOE: 8 Hardware salaries are lower in comparison to software, but this seems super low even from that lens. Also the recruiter is not sharing level information, which is strange. Did anyone else go through a similar experience? Role is good and obviously Apple is a good brand. Any tips on how to move ahead? Cheers! #Apple #hardware #offer #program management
It's low, does she have other offers to use as leverage?
No other offers.
This is a great/well above average ICT3 HWE/HWT offer and a low ICT4 offer. She can negotiate the sign on up to at least $25-$30k. The base and RSUs are top-of-band for ICT3 offers.
Looks like standard ICT3 offer
This is very low, I think it looks like ict3 offer. With you experience, you should ask for ict4. I'm an EPM as Apple within swe. A top tier ict4 offer should be this: Base: 190K Rsu: 300K/4 years Sign on: 80K This was my offer. Side note, to get this offer, you need to have 4 rating from all the people you interviewed. You probably have a mix of 3 and 4 rating. Rating 1: reject Rating 2: almost pass but might fit in another Apple team. Just not the team you are applying. Rating 3: Passed Rating 4: your passed and they really want you.
Super helpful, thanks! Based on her interviewing experience, she likely got a 4 rating from all except one interviewer. In your case, Did Apple mention your level upfront at the time of making an offer?
They never tell people their interview rating and it's usually never shared even after starting. Your friend probably got a couple 3 and the rest 4. That low offer is definitely ict3.
Why you leaving Adobe? I hear its a great place to work!
Adobe is alright… not great, not terrible 😆
I had a similar case. Offer hasn't moved much. Don't know the level either as recruiter would not share. Base was 190, RSU 150 over 4 years and sign on between 50 to 80.
not a bad offer at all. Based on this thread, looks like a solid ICT4.
Not good for the bay area
The good news is that EPMs do nothing but yell at engineers for radar status updates. So this is actually a decent sum of money to do that
Who hurt you?
I’m just saying it’s not some high profile job where they’re making product, design, or engineering decisions. They’re not even in those meetings typically. If that’s what your friend enjoys doing, by all means do it, but don’t expect high compensation to do that
It’s a good offer for a program manager
Location
Cupertino
Super low for Bay Area
