That’s not even that much if you’re leading a product that’s grossing billions in sales each year. Most ICs, even at Principal level will only contribute to a single aspect of a product (ex: security architecture is considered a principal level task). VPs have to coordinate thousands of ICs on all aspects of the product - research, marketing, engineering, design, investor relations.
