How is contracting in Apple's hardware Orgs? Specifically Reliability, Manufacturing, Product design, ETC I usually hear about the horrors of contract work but that seems to focus on software & software QA roles #Apple #HW #Contracting
I’ve never heard of Apple contracting anyone in the 4 years I worked there in hardware. Too much secrecy liability.
Interesting, when did you leave? There are definitely contract roles in the REL group which is product level testing... highly visible stuff. Maybe it’s due to the hiring freeze?

Contracting at Apple is worst.
I worked FTE in HW Rel at Apple previously. They definitely had and still do have contractors. In fact, I’m considering a contractor role with them now so that I can return to the team as a remote employee working from a LCOL area.

Question about women in their 30’s?
Ive known someone who landed FT after contracting for a year and then the contract ended, he worked elsewhere for a few months and apple bought him in as FT. Having said that there are other cases where it did not work out.
