Apple ICT5 or Amazon L7?
Two offers Amazon: Principal (L7), TC $750k Apple: ICT5, TC $600k with different breakdowns, all in AI/ML. Would difference in TC be no brainer, is Amazon L7 considered higher or similar to ICT5? Work culture? Do you consider one company to be a higher tier than the other? Appreciate the responses from people with experience in either or both. TC: $880k
Join Amazon for a month to get that brand value and title. Principal is a good achievement. After a month, move to Apple or anything else.
Shouldn’t 1 mo employment be even omitted on resume? Also, leaving after only one month, would that not burn the bridges with the company, Apple or Amazon?
I dont think it burns any bridges. Also, why keen on joining a toxic company like Amazon in the future.

6 months ago a former coworker got 800ish in the Seattle area. I guess their offers might have changed. He had competing E7+ offers from Meta and some other companies. His recruiter indicated that VP exceptions for PEcompensation were not uncommon

Don’t know about Apple but as a PE you are also responsible for finding org technical problems and solve through force multiplication. Needless to say you will be in all day meetings, reviewing design docs, meeting L8/10s with your own proposals and have zero life outside work.
Apple = Prestige + Better WLB
Amazon principal is definitely more prestige..
How common is ICT5 at Apple? It seems to be a rather large band. Would you say ICT5 and L7 are equivalent levels?
