Applying to MS - silence.

I’ve gotten referrals, talked to recruiters on LinkedIn, applied to multiple positions on the website...nada. What gives? Do I need to hit the right keywords on my resume to have any chance of hearing back from Microsoft?

Need to hit the right demographic

So... don’t fill out race and gender questions?

MS hiring is bullshit. Just change the city on your resume to Seattle and see them contact you. Once they do, just mention that you were in Seattle temporarily and would need relocation since your current city is not Seattle. This trick has worked for several people I know, referrals didn't.

Hahaha

You need the hiring manager to bug the heck out of the recruiters. That worked in my case.

Intel korosuke OP Dec 10, 2018

That sounds really backwards. Unfortunately don’t have any HM contacts..

They are very very slow. And it is December.

No kidding. Guess I just need to wait.

It's random. I applied to MS in Oct, application was rejected. Literally weeks later in November a MS recruiter reached out for interview, I declined as I had already accepted another offer.
