I think I am suffering from depression. Not motivated by anything in life. I have constant anxiety and sometimes images of horrible things happening, followed by short panic attacks. Did anyone go on them? Please share your experience.
Therapy is the way to go. Don’t opt for medication unless prescribed or recommended. Your work insurance should provide you access to therapists.
I've kind of given up on therapy. They only help for a day, then I am back to my miserable self. And that's if they are really good. I feel like most are just trying to make a buck or two.
Then cycle through them until you find the best fit. A good therapist will outline a plan for you along with medication if required until the next visit. A bad one will just hear you out and babble some bullshit.
You work for Amazon. Switch jobs. And on a more positive note, try saint John's wort
Not at Amazon. I wish that was the solution. My depression is just always there. If i won the lotto tomorrow, I'd still be depressed.
You should see a doctor right away if you haven’t till now. They will assess how severe your condition is and then prescribe medication. For me, I was emotionally stressed out and I was starting to show depression symptoms, couldn’t sleep at night. My doctor gave me a very ‘light’ medicine that shows effect slowly but is not addicting etc. definitely get your condition assessed.
One thing to mention being through with these. Antidepressants like, say, SSRI fix the *symptoms*. Not the *cause*. If you want to smile and laugh, while feeling like a scorched forest inside, that certainly is the way to go. If you want to get to the bottom, get a therapy.
Interesting. Thanks.
The thing is, I don't know if there is a cause. I just feel depressed. Sometimes I think there are causes, sometimes I think those things are as a result of my depression. Not sure how to identify the cause and effect.
There is no harm in trying. Hope you feel better soon.
Probably best to talk to a professional. In the meantime, vipassana meditation (15-30mins) never hurt anyone.
Definitely therapy and get your life together. Try and avoid anti-depressants unless it’s the last resort. They fundamentally change the way you will feel on the inside while under the influence. Weird to explain. Sleep well, eat well and exercise regularly. Those are the basics to living a better life.
Therapy and meds work best together

It’s worth trying. They didn’t do anything for me personally. Most times that feeling is just a symptom of you needing to make some changes which meds won’t fix.
