Hey All,
I’m interviewing for an Engineering Manager role and want to understand at what swe level can one transition to EM?
Is it P3, P4, or P5?
Ex: at meta, an E6 translates to M1

Yea it’s mostly equivalent. IC vs EM ladder is still different and M2 is slightly higher than P3 AFAIK. I have seen P3 go to M3 where it’s kinda a promotion lumped in with a job change
M2 is associate manager, EM in training M3 = meta’s M1 P3 goes to m2 P4 goes to m2/m3 P5 goes to m3/m4
Hi! Thanks for responding! Just to be clear, P3 is equivalent to M2 or the next level for P3 is M2?
