How is the leveling system for Atlassian? Special Senior/Principal Engineers and EM? Any insight on comp? Also any thoughts on the company's future outlook? 25% stock price growth since IPO in the current market is underwhelming. Seniors are P5 and Principals are P6. Base pay ranges from 120k up to 170k across those 2 levels. Managers are on the M range, from M2 to M7 (I think). Pay goes from 130k up past 180k on that side. If you joined 12+ months ago you did well on stock, otherwise it seems the price is settling at the $34-$35 mark. So the RSU price you get in your contract will be close to what you actually earn if you choose to sell short term. As mentioned, we are setup for steady, long term growth rather than spiking, which makes it less interesting unless you can sit tight for 4+ years. Working here is good, work/life balance is good, but engineers pay is low to average IMO

EM = engineering manager? Atlassian has two ladders, IC and Manager. I left a bit after IPO, so I can't say much about current comp, but I'd suggest they did underpay for the Bay. Even with the IPO, and pretty good growth from my issue price, I make much more now (in Seattle). I lead a team and everyone's pay was in a pretty tight band for their level. The products all have dramatic challenges that I didn't feel like there was the right leadership to overcome BUT Atlassian was making the right changes and playing the long, not the short game. Personally I liquidated all my stock and I'm not unhappy about that choice. I think most PEs would end up frustrated there, unable to make the right impact. Given all that, for the right thing I would consider it again. I didn't hate my time there at all.
