How do the levels/YOE correspond across the BCG and BCG Gamma ranks? Additionally is it easy to switch between the two divisions? Also how does compensation compare between the 2.
OP, do you have an offer from BCG/BCG GAMMA?
I am still in school and im recruiting for the internship right now.
Speaking solely about Gamma C and X, which are client facing. Some changes are on the way, but this is how it is for now. Levels/YOE are the same or almost the same. Compensation is the same except for the first 2 entry level years where pay is higher at Gamma. Not sure how easy it is to switch sides.
thanks for the reply! sorry what is Gamma C and Gamma X? I cannot seem to find anything on google, apart from a Gamma X job ad for a data engineer (I very much so, only want to be a consultant). Additionally do you know what the levels at Gamma are? A quick linkedin search shows most Gamma 'consultants' at the Lead Data Scientist level. Does this mean Gamma doesn't actually have true consultants and just have data scientists/engineers/SWEs?
Sorry, I missed this. GAMMA C has data scientists, GAMMA X has AI Software Engineers. Not to be confused with BCG X which is a new grouping which encompasses GAMMA and DV 😄 I’m not sure if data engineer is a consulting track position. It might be, but the only ones I know for sure are DS and AI SWE. Yes, GAMMA has different titles. It goes DS / AI SWE > SDS > LDS > Associate Director > Partner > MDP with around 2 years per level. Idk what you’d consider true consultants. These roles are client facing with both GAMMA and classics on the case team. There are some cases which are more driven by the classic partners and some which are more driven by GAMMA partners. Ofc as a GAMMA you are focusing on a more specialized skill set and scope, but from a career perspective you are on the same partnership model as far as the company and client-exposure are concerned.
