I applied and interviewed for an SVP/Technology Services Sr. Manager role at Bank of America. I received the written offer and the job title on the offer letter is SVP/Senior Technology Services Lead. I have not accepted the offer yet. What the f**k? Does Bank of America do this bait and switch often? HR is telling me not to worry about it and that they will change it after I am hired? #bankofamerica
At Bank, what matters is band. If it’s SVP it’s good. Title doesn’t matter
At Bank it's the SVP and Band that matters, both STM and Sr Technology Lead is same band. Easy to get title changed
Is the pay what they originally said? That's what you need to focus on. Many titles here are just to get people to accept lower pay
Officer title is important. SVP is the important part. I would not worry the other title. Plus comp is spelled out in the offer that’s the only thing that matters in the end:
You must be good. Just confirm if you are band 4 SVP
All SVP are minimum band 4
What’s a typical Band 4 SVP salary?
I agree with the other comments that the SVP is what determines band which is the most important, but I would still ask for a clear explanation of difference and make sure you understand if there are any ramifications. HR people quickly gloss over stuff and say 'that doesn't matter' and you find out later that it does. Make them explain to you in detail both the bands and titles within each band.
What was the offer range?
That happened to me too, job posted with a different title then the one offered with no explanation.
What salary were you offered and how many years of experience you have
I got bait and switched at ford two weeks before I started they told me my manager to he was fired and to pick out a different job from a bucket of left over jobs
