People get laid off for that? Thought they just keep humming along.
You get 3 strikes - verbal warning, written warning and PIP
Is this just based on your experience or is it the actual formal company process that everyone goes through?
“at-will” contracts can do anything. However typically companies will AT LEAST verbally warn you or put you on an “improvement plan” before it’s an outright fire. You have to be aware of the warnings as they can be vague or explicit, there isn’t really a clear line
Please tell us what you did to get poor performance....
To never get into this, become good friends with your boss. Usually, they will start monitoring you more closely and will start emailing issues to you in writing. This will go on for a month or two and then it’s a fair game - PIP, firing, or name in the layoff list. Don’t worry. If you are in Software and haven’t been laid off or fired once, you haven’t matured
None of this has happened, just curious
Then don’t worry. You are in Facebook, you will get a long line of employers if you start looking for another job.
If you got meets some, you wouldn’t last until next PSC, better find a job. And save the negative emotional cycle
Most large employers will require written warning, then an improvement plan to cover their ass in a lawsuit.
1) You post about it on Blind 2) You forget TC 3) You get fired because you deserve it 🤷♂️

And one a*hole will post a totally useless response and another one from “Oath” as usual will come poking his/her nose. Guys, have a heart. DONT BE EVIL.
